HOLIstic framework for DiagnOstiCs and moniTORing of Wind turbine blades
The HOLI-DOCTOR Project
Improving the efficiency of wind turbine maintenance can make a significant contribution to reducing the cost of wind energy. Blades maintenance represent a significant fraction of the cost of a wind turbine. This project aims to bring together a number of monitoring techniques including sound and vibration measurements and infrared measurements in a holistic framework. This can be used to improve on present blade maintenance procedures by detecting potential blade problems which may be present both at the surface and within the structure.
